Benchmarking of Indices by PMS
SEBI Circular SEBI/HO/IMD/IMD-PoD-2/P/CIR/2022/172 and Association of Portfolio Managers in India (‘APMI’) circular APMI/2022-23/02 dated March 23, 2023 addresses the performance benchmarking and reporting related compliance requirements that the Portfolio Managers Services (PMS) need to comply with effect from April 1, 2023.
MSE provides MSEI (SX40 Index) as potential benchmark for the equity strategy to registered Members and would provide below mentioned details.

Registered Portfolio Managers may use SX-40 Index. If any PMS is willing to benchmark the performance of their portfolios to SX-40 Index, such PMS will be required to take prior approval from MSE along with payment of requisite fees, where applicable. Further, it is mandatory for such PMS to execute a license agreement with Metropolitan Stock Exchange.
